History

W. L. French Excavating Corporation was established in 1972 by Bill French Sr.  Mr. French began his business with the purchase of a single Mack B81 10 wheel dump truck at the age of eighteen.  Bill began to expand his business by finding a niche in the marketplace, providing trucking and disposal for large construction sites in urban areas such as Boston.  This allowed for significant growth for French’s client base and equipment fleet.

Today, under the leadership of William French Jr., WLF has evolved and diversified to become one of the largest and most respected Site Contracting and Soil Management firms in the region. WLF specializes in commercial site development, mass excavation, utility construction & installation and soil & waste management. WLF’s client base includes an elite group of General Contractors, Commercial Real Estate Developers, Government Agencies, Institutions and Municipalities.  WLF’s time-honored commitment to safety, quality and productivity allows us to continue to deliver excellent results for our clients.  Today WLF has over 160 employees and revenues exceeding $65 million.
