W. L. French Excavating Corporation was awarded a citation from the City of Lowell for assisting with the fire on 295 Middlesex Street.
The citation is from City Manager Bernard F. Lynch and states:
I would like to thank you, your company, and your employees, particularly Operator Mike Bridges and Foreman Scot Anctil, for the assitance you provided the City of Lowell Fire Department on Tuesday November 7th. We sincerely appreciate your responsiveness to our emergency need to help with the partial demolition of a structure that had been severely damaged by fire at 295 Middlesex St. in Lowell. Due to the proximity of this fire the site where W. L. French is involved with the construction of the new JAM Parking Structure, your crew was able to provide the equipment and skilled operator needed to help the Lowell Fire Department ensure that the fire was contained and did not spread to ajoining properties. We are also deeply grateful for your decision to provide this assistance at no cost to the City.
